I am actually quite surprised that this place is so accessible and that there are virtually no "no trespassing" signs. The old train station building is now a night club you people pretty much have to go by all of these dilapidated trains to get to it... so strange.

Talk about spooky!
I had the day off from work today, and although a bit stuffy from a cold, I decided to head over to one of the neighboring towns to check out a really cool spot a friend of mine had told me about. This section of the train station has laid abandoned for at least 20 years (there is a small section that is still used further down the road). Although very dilapidated, many of the old trains still sit there. It was actually very creepy. You can tell that many transients must have used this place as a temporary "home" or a place to do illegal acts without getting caught, at some point or another.

Mural under the highway overpass
I didn't get a chance to get a close-up view of all of the train cares (I was honestly too freaked out to venture too far off the road) but I definitely plan on going back again
The back of the old train station building (built around 1900) and is now occupied as a nightclub
How gorgeous is the detailing on this door?!
Inside one of the train cars
What...? Doesn't everyone bring a shopping cart onto the train before the board? lol

Bright Eyed and Bushy Tailed
This is what I come home ot see in my yard almost every day. They love hanging out with the birds by the feeders, and usually there are about half a dozen squirrels and sometimes hundreds of birds. We also have a couple of really adorable rabbits that call out yard their home as well. One actually snuck up behind me while I was taking pictures but he hopped off before I good snap one of him. Once in a while deer and bear even make appearences.
Here's a glimpse at some Fall colors around New Jesery :)

This is not another "Not Me Monday" post :)
Its another "Not Me Monday" hosted by Mckmama!
I did not have to call the fire department earlier this week because of a live wire in the street.
And I certainly did not get somewhat annoyed when the firemen and police stayed there for close to 3 hours...that would be wrong, I should be thankful they were there to keep everyone safe!
I did not sleep in until 10 this morning when I have far too many things to get done on my day off.
And it definitely was not me who decided to jump off of a 3-foot brick wall because I didn't want to go all the way around to take the stairs, and it most certainly wasn't me that fell on my butt when I jumped off said wall LOL And then I was not more worried about someone actually having seen me do something so idiotic than I was about being hurt. And I do not still have a sore shoulder all because I was too lazy to walk about 200 feet.

Lomo
Am I nuts? I just bought a 2 year subscription to Flickr.com It is my absolute favorite photography related website though and I do use it all the time so its probably a worthwhile investment.
As I mentioned in some previous posts, I have been experimenting with Lomography effects lately - until I get my hands on an actual Lomo that is! :)
Here are some of my photos I've experimented with so far:
Santa Monica Pier - CA
Rainy days can be beautiful too...
Ocean Grove, NJ

Everything Old is New Again
First of all, not that this has anything to do with the topic at hand...but what a great way to start off the morning
YUMM! A Starbucks Caramel Macchiato and a grilled stuffed cinnamon apple pretzel spells disaster for any caolorie counting diet! Good thing I don't believe in dieting ;)
And now to the topic at hand...I use to be creeped out by older things when I was little. I don't know why exactly. I guess it was the sense of not knowing who that old object once belonged to (could have been a perv or criminal for all I knew! lol) But these days, I don't know what changed but I just love antiques! I have always been interested in history - in particular, the Civil War through the 1930's or so. These antiques are a connection to the past - a past that made us all who were are today.
Speaking of antiques. I got inspired to take some photos today when I stumbled upon the box of antique camera my mother had given me a while back. The box was full of all different sizes, brands, years, features...ect. I decided I'd play around with them , but turns out none of them work :( So, I decided to look up a few working camera models that I am interested in getting. I am definitely getting the No 2 Folding Autographic Brownie and looking into getting a few Brownie's.
Here are a few photos from today:
My great-great grandma's Victrola (ignore all of the dust lol)
One of the Six-16 Brownie Jr's I have in my collection of non-working cameras Haha
A beautiful antique mirror (not exactly sure where it came from though)
Speaking of old cameras, recently I have also been somewhat obsessed with Lomography and Lomo cameras. So I have been experimenting with my pics to make them look more LOMO-like. Here's a photo I took and worked on today.
A little old and definitely priceless, my dog Shelby :)

NYC Photos: 5 - More Central Park
Okay, I promise this is the last batch of pictures for tonite!
Strawberry Fields all decorated for Fall
The flowers/decorations are changed daily out of all the times I've been there today's flowers and fall decor were a fave!
The Bethesda Terrace Fountain
"The Mall" is another fave spot of mine. The trees lining the walk-way are so gorgeous!
The Bow Bridge is one of my favorite spots in Central Park. Today there happened to be a fim crew there filming a movie called "Wit's End" so it was difficult to get very many pictures :(
