Where Will Your Photo Shoot Take Place?
I shoot "on location", meaning I do not have my own formal photography studio. I can come to you or we can meet at a designated location. If you have a specific place(s) in mind that you would like to have your photos taken, please confirm with me ahead of time. If you are unsure of where would be the "perfect" location for your shoot feel free to ask me for suggestions. Generally, backyards, waterfront, local parks, or the beach are great photoshoot locations. Fun backdrops such as a funky colored door or a building with interesting grafiti also work really well. I also suggest browsing through my blog for location ideas. If you see a place that looked neat to you and you would like to do your shoot there as well, give me a shout out.

I prefer natural light - whether that be outdoors or indoors near a window or, at the very least, in a room with sufficient indoor lighting.

What Should You Wear?

What you wear is up to you.

Suggestions:
* For Individual shots - Anything you are comfortable in and really shows who you are. Just beware that white in bright light situations will wash you out.

* For Group/Couple photos - There is no need for you to all be wearing the same color(though if that is what you want to do, go for it!), but it is best if you are at least in colors that compliment each other. Try to avoid crazy patterns or shirts with logos on them.

* For Children - Please be sure to bring at least one extra change of cloths to change them into incase of any unforeseen incidents. Don't forget about those accessories - knitted hats, tutus, your favorite blanket to wrap baby in or frilly bows for little girls all add personal touches to your photos.

* Please feel free to also bring a maximum of two other outfit changes for yourself or your child to make your photos more varied.

Props
If there are any items that you would like yourself or your child(ren) to be photographed with, please let me know ahead of time. I also have a trunk full of goodies - such as some accessories, baskets, chairs, blankets, ect. Please note: For parents of babies/young children - If you would prefer for us to only use your "props" (blankets, prop up billows, towels, ect...) please let me know in advance so we can make arrangements.

Don't forget about your pet! Feel free to bring along their favorite toy as well.

Before the Shoot
To be sure our shoot is as successful as possible, please make sure everyone is well rested and fed.

If your pet is being photographed, don't forget to bring along some tasty treats.

PORTFOLIO COMING SOON...

In the meantime, please check out these other websites to see some of my work.

Not Me Monday

Want to join in on the fun?

Check out "Not Me Monday" hosted by McKmama

I am not a klutz. Nope not me, not ever. (I bet those of you that know me are laughing right now)

I did not trip up the stairs one night this week with two plates in my hand causing me to have to remake dinner

It definitely was not me who slammed face first into a window sill while sleeping (still don't know how that happened and how I didn't end up with a bruise). I was so tired that I just went right back to sleep though lol

And it certainly wasn't me that dropped one of those super sized bottles of conditioner on my toe in the shower, causing my toe nail to crack.

Oh, yeah... did I mention that I totally did not give in to the suggestions and make a Photography Fabebook Page? Check it out! :)

The Circle of Life

I saw this hawk in my yard the other day huddled in the bushes eating a pigeon he had caught. Being a life-long animal lover it absolutely broke my heart seeing this hawk tear tear apart that poor difenseless bird, but I know its all just the circle of life and a matter of survival. Wish I had had my telephoto lens with me but didn't want to risk running into the house to get it and not getting any shots at all or scaring off the hawk by getting too close, which is what eventually happened...ooops.

New and Improved!

I ended up having to create a new Photography Business page on Facebook...will be deleting the other Photography Facebook page soon, so please add this one :)

Here is the link to the New Photography Fabebook Page

Or you can search for it by typing in "Cynthia Jill Photography" in the Facebook search box.

*Just so no one gets confused, I am not deleting this blog, just the first photography facebook page I linked on here a few weeks ago.

Shelby Saturday!

Any pet lovers read my blog? Don't know about you but my dogs have always been part of the family. So, of course they get Christmas presents along with the rest of the family. Actually, by now I think Shelby actually knows she's going to get something. She got a pretty pink sweater and a giant tennis ball for Christmas this year as well as some treats.

I don't think she is quite decided as to whether or not she likes either. The sweater is a bit snug and makes it difficult for her to jump up onto the couch or beds and I think she's just confused by the giant tennis bal lol

Looking all innocent...

What's that you say? You want to see outtakes? (actually someone emailed asking if I had any fun outtakes that I could post) Don't know about the rest of you, but I think that outtakes can often be just as interesting and fun to look at as those "professional" style photos.

So here are some Shelby outtakes....
